Teaching K-12 students how to keep things as green as possible from both the growing and power consumption aspect is an important part of the Growing a Future School Farm program. The School Farm location does not have access to the local power grid and the costs estimates to run the equipment and lines to reach it was beyond our budget. Turning lemons into lemonade, we saw the adding of solar power as not only meeting our small power needs, but an incredible teaching and training opportunity for our students and community members. This week we completed the solar panel installations and will have power by the end of next week.
